Jess Murrain is a multi-disciplinary performer, actor, poet and devised theatre maker.
She trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (BA Acting-Collaborative and Devised, 2010-2013.) Prior to this she studied Drama at Exeter University specialising in live art. Collaborations include Complicite, Tobacco Factory, Illuminate Festival, National Theatre Studios and LIFT.
Her most recent poetry publication was a short collection with The Poetry School and her poetry readings have spanned various events and spaces including ‘Love Each Other or Perish: 50 Greatest Love Poems’ as part of the Festival of Love, Royal Festival Hall. She performs spoken word pieces at a multitude of spaces in and around London.
In 2011, she co-founded Theatre with Legs- an emerging devised theatre company with Lucy Bairstow. Their most recent work ‘Digs’ performed to sell out audiences at Illuminate Festival 2016 and is mid-way through a theatre and festival tour. ‘Digs’ is next to run at the Pleasance (London) and culminates at the Edinburgh Fringe 2017.
