Cecilia Knapp is a spoken word poet who writes and performs extensively around the UK. She is an alumni of the Camden Roundhouse’s prolific poetry mentoring scheme and is now a resident artist at the venue, who support her to make work. She’s headlined at some of London’s most well known poetry nights as well as nationally, sharing work at the Cheltenham Literature Festival and enjoying runs at the Edinburgh Fringe. She has made commissioned work for the BBC had her work published in several anthologies, and shared her work on stages at festivals including Bestival and Secret Garden Party. Her poetry as been played on both XFM, BBC radio 1 and 1Xtra. She is currently working on a one woman spoken word theatre piece Finding Home which is supported by both the Roundhouse, Richmix and the Arts Council and will tour in 2016.
Alongside performing, Cecilia frequently facilitates creative writing workshops and is an ambassador for the mental health charity C.A.L.M. She campaigns for greater awareness around mental health and advocates using creativity to enable this.
